Extensive communal riots followed the demolition of Babri Masjid… I realised it would be a responsible act to produce a film on a non-institutional and non-sectarian worshipper like Kabir or Lalon. With the advent of the new millennium, the world seemed to be… seized by a surge of prejudice in matters related to religion, politics and culture. I decided that it was the right time to launch my project on Lalon Fakir.
